Europ Europ Fanclub’s third award goes to sweetfish.site! This is a highly refined, clean and elegant website. The top menu is divided into the following categories: living room, studio, writing desk, attic, backyard, rss, and themes.
Living room is further divided into about, library, cinema, and jukebox. Studio into games, art, and photography. Writing desk into checkout counter, blog, and lists. Attic into advent calendar, clubhouse, weird web, cohost corner, and colophon. And finally, backyard includes screenshot garden and neighborhood.
Many of these categories and subcategories are self-explanatory: in library, the creator presents their favorite books; in cinema, their favorite films; and in jukebox, a favorite song (which changes each time the page is refreshed). Games, art, and photography feature works created by the site’s creator.
Checkout counter is one of the sections that truly sets the site apart. Each month, a new page is added featuring curated recommendations across books, films, comics, short stories, websites, articles and essays, games, blogs, and/or music. The recommendations are linked, and the book and film suggestions are accompanied by a few short comments.
But there is more! This is yet another site where you feel compelled to read and explore everything it has to offer. Lists is an unpretentious, self-explanatory section. Here, the lists (so far) are divided into bucket list, plants I have right now, tools I’ve used to make games, daily games I (try to) play, things I want to bake, tattoos I would get if I got over a few hang-ups, pages that inspired this page, and regularly used emojis. In addition, there are sections titled future pages for this site and future themes for this site. The jury has spent hours exploring many of these recommendations — and they are truly excellent.
